You Loved Me Once is a beautiful and poignant novel about letting love in, dealing with grief, and moving on from your past. Corinne Michaels stuns with her graceful and heartfelt words.
Serenity is a woman in her late thirties who is one of the best doctors in her field. She is a gynecological oncologist who has worked her butt off to help women fight and beat cancer. Her dream to be a doctor started at a young age and even though she has accomplished so much, she is still missing something. She is missing love in her life. After her mother passed away, Serenity has closed herself off to love and a meaningful relationship. Loss is something she knows too well and doesn’t want to lose another person she loves. But a fling with a sexy doctor is making it harder and harder to keep that promise to herself.
Westin is a well-known doctor who is easy on the eyes. He could have any woman he wants and he has his eyes set on Serenity. They started a friends-with-benefits relationship about 2 years ago and agreed to keep feelings out of their arrangement. But after all this time together he really likes Serenity and wants more.
Serenity and Westin have busy lifestyles and deal with so much as doctors that can add stress. Serenity is in the process of a new trial where she would administer a drug cocktail that could help women with ovarian cysts/tumors so they could possibly have the choice to still bear children. And on top of that, she is dealing with her personal life. She has to decide if she is willing to risk her heart and have more with Westin. They both face so many obstacles throughout the entire read and it just adds to the emotion of the story. And when Serenity’s past meets her present will things fall apart? Or can Westin remind her about the beauty of love and how it is worth the risk?!

I give You Loved Me Once 5 stars. I felt so much when I read this book. It is an emotional book so be prepared to experience all the feels. I loved seeing Serenity grow so much and also getting to see how much of a sweetheart Westin is. Corrine Michaels surrounds Serenity and Westin with lovely supporting characters which made me feel even more connected to the story. A raw, breathtaking read from start to finish.
